Welcome to Tarneit P-9 College’s BYOD Programs

We’re excited to offer two pathways that support student learning and digital literacy development:

RISE Program (Years 3-6): Reaching Innovative Student Excellence

Starting in Years 3-6, students use iPads as their primary learning tool. The RISE Program builds foundational digital skills, fosters creativity, and prepares students for the independence they’ll need in secondary school. iPads provide access to engaging, interactive learning experiences tailored to primary learners.

LEAP Program (Year 7 onwards): Laptop Enabled Academic Program

Starting in 2026, our Year 7 students will transition from school-owned Chromebooks to family-owned Windows laptops. This change prepares students for success at Tarneit Senior College, where they’ll use the same devices throughout their secondary education—no need to purchase again when they move up.

What this means for your child:

  • Access to age-appropriate technology that supports their learning journey
  • Development of digital literacy and responsibility skills from primary through secondary
  • Industry-standard software for STEM, Digital Technologies, and Design subjects (LEAP)
  • Devices that grow with them—iPads through primary, laptops through secondary
  • Greater flexibility for creative projects and personalised learning

We’re excited to see how these programs will enhance learning opportunities for our students.
